Teacher Feature – Mr. Drone

Isaac Loker

Christopher Drone, the new science teacher at Wayne City High School, though he’s only been here a couple months, is already loving it.  Mr. Drone is from Saline County, and was raised on a farm, wants everyone here to know he’s “just a good ol’ farm boy” and has always loved that.  He farmed with his dad after he got out of school until his dad retired, then he went back to school and got his teaching degree. He loves weather and all things space and earth science.  This is one of the reasons he loves this area, because of all the aspects of science in the locale.  He loves bluegrass music and festivals and would like to go to more festivals soon. Prior to being a teacher here at WCHS, he was a remedial reading instructor. He hopes to reach and connect to his students at Wayne City. Mr. Drone is a big St. Louis Cardinals fan as well as high school basketball and volleyball; he is excited to use his knowledge and experience to teach.

A fun fact about Mr. Drone is that about 24 years ago, he had a six month program on WSIL T.V. called adopt an acre, where he would talk about farming and answer peoples questions that they wrote in to him.
