Horses require a lot of work, some have to be worked with longer than others. Some horses also require a person to have a lot of patience. For the people that compete with their horses, they have to make sure that their horse is fed properly. When asked why she liked riding horses, Vanessa Schooley answered: “It’s fun, and it gives you the opportunity to bond with your horse.” When some people discuss whether a horse is a very compassionate animal or whether it could be a person’s best friend, Vanessa Schooley says, “Yes, a horse can be your best friend.” 

          There are many breeds of horses. The racehorses are trained to run as fast as they can. But the cow horses are trained to work cattle. Vanessa Schooley claims that her favorite breed of horse is the American Quarter Horse. The American Quarter Horse can be trained for many different events. Everyone has their own ways of properly taking care of their horses. 

         Vanessa Schooley explains what she does to make sure she has properly taken care of her horses. “ I always make sure that they are fed twice a day, never let them run out of hay or water, and I always clean their stalls.” When it comes to how long someone has been riding a horse some people can say they’ve been riding for 13 years or maybe even more or less. Vanessa has only been riding horses for 3 years.
