September 21 community members attended Wayne City’s traditional Bean Queen Pageant. Girls who participated in the pageant spent the whole day getting ready to walk across that stage. The pageant occurred at 6:00 P.M in the Wayne City High School Performance Gym.
This pageant included 3 different categories, with winners announced in each category as well as the titles of Prettiest Eyes, Prettiest Hair, Prettiest Smile, and Miss Congeniality. Little Miss Bean Queen is for girls in Kindergarten through fourth grade. The second category in the pageant is Junior Miss Bean Queen, which is for girls grade 5 through grade 8. The third category in the pageant is Miss Bean Queen, which is for girls who are in high school. The Little Miss Bean Queen winner of 2024 is Scarlett Atkinson. The Junior Miss Bean Queen Winner of 2024 is Paisley Simpson. The Miss Bean Queen Winner of 2024 is Katelyn Catron. Miss Bean Queen, Katelyn Catron, said, “I was shocked when they called my name. It was such an exciting moment and an honor to be Miss Bean Queen.”
Second Runner Up Jacey Smith stated, “I was so surprised when they called on me for Second Runner Up. Honestly, I thought my jaw was going to hit the floor. I couldn’t believe it. I was not expecting it at all but it really made my heart light up.”
