Senior of the Month is an honor all seniors want to receive in their high school career. In a school year, there are only eight students who get chosen for this role. If students are chosen, they are in the running for Senior of the Year. The teachers choose this honor. This role shows that recipient has integrity, courage, trustworthiness, and responsibility. The first Senior of the Month, Kane Borah, was the first to win the honor this year.
Mrs. Fagan said, “Kane has never been afraid to truly be who he is, meaning he doesn’t try to blend into the crowd. He has been involved not only in many school clubs, but community groups as well all while keeping his grades up. Our band students voted him band captain because he is good about listening to others opinions and conveying that information to me. His positive attitude is always nice.”
Borah takes part in many school activities and clubs such as Beta Club, History Club, Band, Scholar Bowl, FCA, and Apologetics. Borah stays on top of all of his work while keeping a 4.0 GPA, all while doing these clubs as well. Teachers agree, Borah definitely embodies the role of Senior of the Month.
Borah stated, “I’m looking forward to getting to grow in this school year with all of the classes I am taking. Although I am honored to have achieved Senior of the Month, I am looking forward to getting out into the real world after I graduate.”
