Wayne City High School staff selects one twelfth-grade student as the “Senior of the Month.” Most seniors look forward to achieving this award over their four high school years, especially their senior year. Teachers select the chosen student by voting for up to three seniors on a form provided by office staff. An office staff member then tallies the votes to see who wins. Eight students are chosen to win the award over the course of the year.
The staff selected Will Braddock as the Senior of the Month for October. Students are selected based on their community involvement, participation in school activities, and academic standing. Braddock has participated in basketball from his sophomore year to his senior year of his high school career. He has also joined journalism this year. Braddock also has an after school job working at Barnards Soil Service located here in Wayne City. Braddock stated, “I was surprised that I won it ,and it feels really good.” Many high school students work diligently towards getting this exceptional award. Receiving the honor of Senior of the Month shows that the student is hardworking and responsible. Mrs. Mays said, “Always striving to do the right thing, Will Braddock demonstrates great character. Having strong moral standards, he treats his peers and teachers with the utmost respect. Will goes above and beyond to lend a helping hand.”
