The Bean Queen
September 30, 2017
The 2017 Bean Queen is Abagail Atwood. She is the daughter of Heather Boyd and Scott Atwood. She is 16 years old and a Junior at Wayne City High School. When asked why she ran for Bean Queen, Abagail said, “I thought it would be fun and something new to try.” Her favorite part of being Bean Queen was being able to take part in all the Bean Day’s activities. When asked what her thoughts were when they called her name she said, “I was shocked and surprised. I didn’t expect it.” Since she won the title of Bean Queen, she rode in the parade and her favorite part was seeing everyone excited to see her. Winning Bean Queen has it’s perks, one of those being a scholarship. When asked what she plans to do with the money she said, “I plan to go to Frontier to be an Elementary teacher and then later transfer to USI.”
