40 Miles Can’t Keep Them Apart!

Wayne City High School student Bryleigh Matthews and Salem High School student Dustin Richardson have been in a “long distance relationship” for about 3 months. Their daily communication is made by snap chatting or texting and a lot of facetime calls! They have “Alpha Bracelets,” which are beaded bracelets that allow those to feel together even when they are apart. Bryleigh and Dustin only get to see each other about once every two weeks. Between sports, school, and jobs, it is very difficult to make plans with each other.

Bryleigh said, “It seems a lot easier to get into fights because we don’t get to see each other as much. You have to have a lot of trust and you have to be very patient with each other. It makes you very emotional because you are worried about every little thing. It sucks to never really know the next time you are going to see him. But when we are together, we are both always happy with each other and everything in the world feels right!” They try to get the chance to text or face time as much as they can, but it still isn’t the same as seeing each other face to face.
