Alumni, Carissa Seidel, graduated from Wayne City High School in 1998. After high school Carissa went to Rend Lake College to get her Associate’s in teaching then, moved on to Southern Illinois University of Carbondale to get her Bachelor’s and then she went to McKendree to get her Master’s. Carissa is now a 5th grade teacher at Wayne City Grade School. When Carissa went to high school,  there were no dual credit classes like there are today. Mrs. Seidel said she misses seeing her friends and having fewer responsibilities and playing sports, but she does not miss the homework from high school.

Carissa is married to Dennis Seidel who also went to Wayne City High School and has four children, Avery, Addison, Kenzie, and Karter who all attend Wayne City School. Avery is a sophomore, Addison is in 7th grade, Kenzie is in 4th grade, and Karter is in Kindergarten. You have probably seen this family around, they are always on the go and very involved in Wayne City Schools and their community!
