The Struggles of Senior Year

Shayla Miller

They say that high school goes by super fast, and that couldn’t be truer, but the real struggle is getting through it. Senior year is a constant battle with so many responsibilities to carry out. From, trying to keep up with all school work to out of school responsibilities, it can be super stressful.

With Rend Lake College allowing dual credit courses at Wayne city, most seniors choose to jump on that train and get some classes out of the way. Although this is a great opportunity, and for the most part free, these additional courses are just one component to the stress of senior year. When Senior, Aubrey Noe was interviewed, she stated;“ Senior year is very very stressful, but I’m so grateful to be taking college classes along with my high school schedule because I know it’ll all be worth it in the end.”

Senioritis is also a real problem for most students, but what is senioritis you might ask? Senioritis is a supposed affliction of students in their final year of high school or college, characterized by a decline in motivation or performance. By senior year, most students are tired of school and ready to graduate. All in all, the seniors are more than ready to graduate and move on to college.
