The new 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon has been released and is already out of production.  With a recommended dealer price of almost $85,000, you already can’t buy one new. There were only 3,000 made in the U.S. and 300 in Canada.  The last Demon was put to auction with the last Dodge Viper for charity.

The 6.2 L Supercharged Hemi V8 Demon starts with 808 horsepower, at 4,300 lbs. Owners can buy the “Demon Crate,” a $1 option, (worth $6,410) which ups the horsepower to 840.  This option includes two narrow front wheels, a performance ECU, a replacement instrument panel, a personalized ID badge, a performance air filter, two valve stems, and passenger mirror block off plates.  The car has another $1 option, adding a passenger and back seats, because the Demon originally only comes with the driver’s seat. With all these factors, the Dodge Demon has the highest horsepower of any production car, highest G-Force of a production car, first wheelie of a production car, world’s fastest 0-60 mph production car, and the world’s fastest ¼ mile of any production car.

The 2018 Demon has set the bar for all other production cars.  Other companies have made cars close to the performance level of the Demon, but haven’t yet topped it.
