Buff Puff Is On!
September 26, 2021
This past week the Buff Puff date was announced by Student Council that it is on! It will take place on October 1 at 6 p.m. in the Competition gym, and anyone is welcome. So far no one has signed up to play, but hopefully that will change soon so the tournament can take place as planned. Many students believe this event will be a great opportunity for a break from school. It will let everyone get a chance to just have fun and compete with fellow classmates and nearby schools. Buff Puff is an exciting, fun-filled, volleyball tournament for just boys to play against each other. It has been a tradition to have the varsity volleyball girls coach the teams that are participating. Recently graduated volleyball player Avery Seidel stated, “Coaching a Buff Puff team was very interesting, to say the least. Being able to coach the boys, who are typically on the sidelines cheering, how to play, is something that I will never forget.”
Lucas Noe, a student here at Wayne City that played a couple years prior said, “Buff Puff was an amazing time and was such a great experience. What made it an even more memorable day was that my team ended up winning the whole tournament.” Each team will have one day to practice sometime before the tournament begins. They can go over their line-up, rotations, and game plan to get ready for the game. All teams will decide on a t-shirt design which is included with the $12 admission fee. They can dress up, have a theme, or dress however their team may like. Chase Smith said, “I am so excited to display my talents for the first time at Buff Puff this year. I cannot wait to dominate the other teams.”
