Fighting for First

Battle of the Classes will be held on November 12 this year. It is a day where Freshmen through Seniors fight it out with different competitions for the number one spot. Each grade is expected to come up with a shirt design to wear on the day of the event and a run out. Most of the time, the shirts will match the theme of the run out, but that is not always the case. The school was not able to have the battle last year due to the COVID-19 mandates, so it is a big deal to the students that it is happening this year. Junior Addison Seidel said, “I’m so excited that we get to have it this year, because I’m so competitive. It is so much fun to get to go head-to-head with the other classes.”

There have been rumors that there may be a few new additions to the competitions this year, but nothing is final yet. When asked about his last year for battle of the classes senior Taj McKinney said, “This has been one of my favorite things about high school, and I’m going to miss dominating in most of the games.” Battle of the Classes is a fun privilege that the kids who aren’t in high school yet could look forward to watching each year. “Even though I do not participate in many of the games, I love getting to help design the shirts and coming up with the run out,” responded junior Madeline Boyd.
