Starting the 2023-2024 year comes with lots of changes for Wayne City Schools, as Stephen Ellis steps into the role of High School Principal and Nicole Henson becomes the Superintendent. Since these positions affect the school in a major way, it is important to find people who not only are up to the challenge, but will have a positive impact on the students.
These jobs were hard ones to fill, but many staff members are excited to see what is to come.
Mr. Choate, one of the high school’s most veteran teachers, is enthusiastic about the new administration. “I feel really good about it. I think that the two work very well together. Mr. Ellis is very talented. He did a great job as a teacher, and I’m excited to see how he does as Principal. I am also happy that Mrs. Henson has stepped into the superintendent role; I think that she is a great edition. And although Mr. Caudle and Mr. Lingafelter did a great job and we took a big loss, I know that these two will do a great job and will be able to fill their shoes.”
However, Mr. Choate isn’t the only one looking forward for the year.
“I’m excited about these new changes. I love how eager Mr. Ellis and Mrs. Henson are to figure out solutions and how they work so closely together. And even though they can be very straightforward, I know that they have good intentions and truly have the students’ best interests at heart,” stated Mrs. Mays.
