The Wayne City High School volleyball team celebrated an unforgettable senior night as they faced off against the Thompsonville Tigers. The Lady Indians dominated the court, which left the scores 25-8 in the first set and 25-11 in the second. They finished the season with a record of 11-16. The team, led by seniors Alexis Greene, Cecilia Choate, Gracie Loker, and Ayden Smith, showcased their skills and determination, securing a huge victory. Loker said, “The atmosphere in the gym was amazing, just seeing the smiles on all the parents and players faces was one of the best feelings.”
As the game began, it was evident that the seniors were determined to make their last home game a memorable one. Greene, known for her powerful hits, dominated the net, delivering impressive kills that left the opposing team struggling to defend. The Lady Indians displayed their determination and passion for the sport. Their strong serves, powerful attacks, and exceptional defensive plays kept the Tigers on their toes throughout the match . The seniors, in particular, led the team with their experience and leadership, guiding their younger teammates and setting a great example.
The win not only highlighted the Lady Indians’ athletic capabilities but also showcased their unity as a team. Smith stated, “This team has set a huge example for me. I can not wait to come back and see how well they’ve grown together.
