On April 6, everyone put on their fancy clothes and got all dolled up for prom. With high spirits, the high school took to the dance floor and had a night to remember. This year, to match the theme of Paris, prom planners mixed up the usual food offerings and served pasta and bread. A pastries cart was also added, bringing the desserts of Paris to Wayne City. A make-your-own flower bouquet cart also added something new to the evening. From dance circles to dance lines, the students did it all. Junior Kaylin Loker said, “Prom was such a memorable night, the decorations were so beautiful, and it was so nice seeing everyone all dolled up and having a great time. My favorite dress of the night was probably Prom Queen, Cecilia Choate’s.”
The prom court consisted of attendants from each of the four grades. Freshmen included Anthony Leonardi, Peyton Dirks, Addison Caldwell, and Rhyver Tibbs. Sophomores attendants included Emma Griswold, Alayna White, Javen Loker, and Dawson Wood. Juniors includes Pierce Bryan, Whitney Lambert, MaKalyn Gregory, and Joel Beehn. Senior King and Queen candidates consisted of Tanner McNeil, Liam Smith, Koby Anderson, Cody Nguyen, Joey Greenwalt, Klaira Vaughan, Ayden Smith, Cecilia Choate, Graceland Loker, and Alexis Greene. McKayla Reynolds and Caleb Mason were named Master and Mistress of Ceremonies. Cecilia Choate and Joey Greenwalt were named Prom Queen and King. Choate said, “I felt very honored to win the Queen. It felt good knowing that people wanted me to get it.”
