The 2025 Lady Indians Softball Season started on March 17 with their opening game against Oblong. The girls started the season with a loss of 14-9. So far, the Lady Indians’ softball record for this season is 1-3. They have lost to the Oblong Lady Panthers, the Christ Our Rock Lady Stallions, and the Edwards County Lady Lions. Even though the Lady Indians have a losing record, they pulled out a 14-5 win over the North Clay Lady Cardinals.
The Lady Indians have a larger than usual roster this year. They have 5 outgoing seniors this year that play a huge part in their team. They are the role models to all of the underclassmen. This year’s seniors on the Lady Indians softball team include Kenna Anselment, Klaire Stich, MaKalyn Gregory, Josie Greenwalt, and Rainey Loker.
Senior, Kenna Anselment has hit 2 home runs already this season. They were both hit at the game against Oblong on March 17.
“My last season of softball is off to a great start. I hit my first home runs of the season, and I can not wait to finish it off with my amazing teammates,” said Anselment.
The Lady Indians also have several underclassmen players. These players give it their all on and off the field. They are all dedicated to this sport and want to do their best every game.
“I am having a lot of fun this season. My teammates have been very supportive and helpful with my softball career so far. I can’t believe next year is going to be my senior year,” said junior Kenzie Seidel.
