Wayne City’s juniors and seniors September 9 had the opportunity to attend the Rend Lake College Fair, an event designed to help students explore and determine which college or university they might want to attend after high school. The fair featured representatives from a wide variety of colleges and universities, giving students a chance to learn about different academic programs, campus life, scholarships, and other opportunities.
Abigail Young, a senior at Wayne City, said, “I really enjoyed going to the college fair and learning about all the great opportunities that each college had to offer. It was eye-opening to see all the different paths I could take, and it helped me realize what kind of environment and programs I am looking for in a college.”
The event included speakers from every college and university represented, providing information about their institutions. There were students from many different schools who attended, making it a lively and engaging environment for discussion. This setting allowed Wayne City students to ask specific questions and get personalized advice about the schools they were interested in attending.
Senior Bailey Shaw, reflected on how the fair helped clarify her plans for the future. “Learning about the different college opportunities was really interesting. I enjoyed talking with the representatives and asking questions, which helped me figure out where I want to go after high school. It made the whole college search feel more manageable and less overwhelming.”
