Volleyball season is finally here and the WCHS volleyball team and Pep Club could not be more excited! It’s time to meet the team and get information about upcoming games. The first home volleyball game will be Tuesday, August 29th against Webber Township and the theme for the night will be a red out. The seniors of the Lady Indians volleyball team are, Grace McCormick, Aubrey Noe, Morgan Schumm, Lucy Smith, and exchange student Savannah Guilmot. The juniors are Abigail Atwood, Hanah Cooper, Cheyenne Fenton, Makenna Kelly, and Gracie Musgrave. The three sophomores include Kylee Keele, Bryleigh Matthews, and Avery Seidel. Incoming freshmen consist of Mickenzie Smith, Alaina Mckinney, Jakara Greenwalt, Maddie Caudle, and Josilyn Wheat. The Lady Indians are coached by LaMar Choate and Matt Griswold.

When talking to some of the Lady Indians, senior, Morgan Schumm said “I have mixed emotions about it being my senior year, but I can’t wait to see what this volleyball season has in store for us.” Libero, Bryleigh Matthews told us “I’m excited to be a sophomore getting this much playing time on varsity.” And when asking junior varsity team captain, Gracie Musgrave what she was looking forward to this season she replied, “I’d like our team to have a winning season and that we can come together as a team and work hard.” Volleyball players aren’t the only ones excited for this season. Pep Club member Jaxon King said “I can’t wait for volleyball to be here. Something about dressing up and cheering on the team really makes me happy.”

So come out and support your Lady Indians this season and wish them luck! All games start with the junior varsity matches at 6:15 with the varsity games following.
