History Club last year had an estimated total of 90 students. Almost all of them say they will be joining again this year. Anyone wanting to join History Club this year needs to pay sponsor, LaMar Choate $5.00 Monday, September 11.

History Club goes on a field trip at the end of the year every year. Last year they went to the Muhammad Ali Museum in St. Louis. This year Mr. Choate plans to take History Club to St. Louis MO. He is unsure where they will go but, it will for sure be in St. Louis. The cost to go on this trip is usually around $10. History club does do a fundraiser every year to help with costs of the trip. The fundraiser is a trivia night and is open to any team that wants to participate. The date for trivia night will be decided sometime this week or next but, it will for sure be in November.

LaMar Choate says there is not yet a design picked out for this year’s shirts, and anyone is welcome to submit one. The shirts usually cost around $5-$10.

There are nine students elected to run for office, Morgan Schumm and Hanah Cooper for Secretary, Isaac Loker for Treasurer, Kyle Sledge and Lucy Smith for Vice President, and Gracie Mccormick, Aubrey Noe, Braden Weccele, and Kyle Sledge for President. Voting for officers will take place at the next meeting on Friday, Sept. 8 during activity period.

Students are very excited to take part in History Club this year.  They are most looking forward to the end of the year field trip, because they have had so much fun in previous years.
