The Lady Indians were killing it yet again at their first away game of the season on Tuesday, September 5! But unfortunately on Thursday, September 7, they lost to Christ Our Rock Lutheran. Both varsity and JV went against the Cisne Lions and the CORL Stallions. Coached by Lamar Choate and new assistant coach Matt Grizwald, they are sure to have a fantastic season.
The varsity starters for the games were Seniors: Aubrey Noe, Gracie McCormick, and Lucy Smith, Juniors: Hanah Cooper, Sophmores: Bryleigh Matthews, Kylee Keele, and Freshman: Jakara Greenwalt Varsity defeating Cisne in both matches with a dominating score of 25-20 on the first game and 25-13 on the second. When asked if the game was difficult, Gracie McCormick had this to say, “It was challenging, but easy at the same time.” The team was defeated by CORL in both matches with a score of 24-26 on the first game, 25-18 on the second, and 25-13 on the third. JV ended up going into three matches during the Cisne game, which included them losing the first and third match. Although, they revived themselves during the CORL game with a score of 25-22 and 25-14 on the second.
When asked about how she felt after the Cisne varsity game, Aubrey Noe said, “I thought we played really well. It was the best we’ve played all year. I hope to improve with my team to make this a successful year!” Their next game is on Tuesday, September 12 at Sandoval!
