Dealing with the Dirt

Dawson Barnard

School board members, Karen Haile, Clinton Lane, Kirk Barnard, Ashley Musgrave, Mike Ehrhart, and Teresa White considered ways to remove the dirt pile behind the student parking lot at the September 21 school board meeting which began at 6 P.M.  It was suggested that they bid out the removal of the dirt and sodding of the terrain to landscaping companies.  They also expect rock to be arriving to line the south ditch in the coming week.

The board approved the consent agenda items as presented.  This included the FFA Field Trip to Indianapolis, Wayne City Matters “Trunk or Treat”, the Band trip to St. Louis, and the Beta Club trip to Cape Girardeau.

With the recommendation of the finance committee, the board approved the 2018 fiscal year budget.  They also continued to review monthly utility costs with the new school.  They also approved bills and payroll for September 2017.

The school board reviewed unofficial PARCC scores, and it appeared Wayne City students did very well.

At 7:07 P.M. the board moved into executive session in accordance with board policy 2:220-E2. They left executive session at 7:29 P.M. and adjourned at 7:33 P.M.
