Teacher Feature: Mr. Lamar Choate

Lamar Choate went to Eastern Illinois University and finished as a history major with a minor in English. He has been teaching for 24 years, all of them at Wayne City. He has also coached volleyball for 16 seasons and club volleyball for 3-4 years.

Lamar is a guitar player in two bands, “Torn and Frayed” and “Rattlewatch”.

Not only does he have his Master’s Degree in History, and he has also mastered the art of tie dye. If students ask, he may even model one of his pieces for them the next day.

When asked about Mr. Choate, Trinity Krueger said, “As long as you don’t make him mad, he’s not as scary as everyone says.”
