Preparing for Finals

Twenty out of twenty students asked said instead of studying for finals, they just hope for the best. This could be because studying is too much work for them, or that they feel studying does them no good.

Instead of cramming, here’s a few tips on how to study and catch a better grade.

  1. Start early! Don’t wait for the night before to start. You’ll feel rushed and panic even more.
  2. Pace yourself. Create a schedule, make time for breaks, and bring LOTS of snacks.
  3. Study in the style the test is going to be. If it’s matching, study definitions.
  4. Cry.
  5. Quiz yourself. You could also have someone else quiz you.
  6. Make notecards.
  7. Try to study some things that aren’t on the study guide. Unless it’s for Mr. Choate, then stick to the study guide.
  8. Keep papers throughout the semester to look over while studying.

Finals can be pretty stressful, don’t make it harder on yourself.
