New Year, New Me

The concept behind a “New Year’s resolution” started way back when the ancient Babylonians were said to have been the first people to create this “annually tradition” some 4,000 years ago. They were also the first to hold recorded celebrations in honor of the New Year when their crops were being planted in early March.

Many people have different opinions on resolutions, “Why try to change yourself January first when you could do it in the middle of the year, if you don’t like something about yourself change it,” said Mrs Beehn.

New Year resolutions can change your life, and people have been using them as excuses for years. People tell themselves they’ll get a gym membership to lose weight. The NYR (New Year resolutions have been giving people so many reasons to be lazy and ignorant. There is no need to wait till January first to be what you wanna be.

There are a variety of New Year resolutions at WCHS, for instance when asked what Noah Wodicker’s resolution would be, his response was, “I would love to learn how to whistle, I don’t know how and always wanted to learn.”
