Stars of the Show

Prom is right around the corner and the stars of the show have been picked. Prom court is an exciting time for students at Wayne City High School. It is a memory that will last forever for high school students. Senior year prom court is an ideal moment for senior girls and guys. This is the year that seniors get an opportunity to be a king or queen candidate. To upperclassmen, prom court voting is just an excuse to get out of class. Prom court could be a scary and new thing to lowerclassmen. Seniors get to choose the Junior Court also. The Junior Court includes a boy and a girl in kindergarten.

When choosing prom court, students pick classmates that would be a good candidate for their class. Students want to pick a student that would represent their class well. Each class will get called out of class to go vote for two girls and two guys out of their class. A few days after the voting has taken place, the votes are announced over the intercom. The results were announced Monday, January 23, 2018.

This is the moment that all the students have been waiting for! Queen Attendees for prom this year are Morgan Schumm, Quinn Kidd, Shayla Miller, Gracie McCormick and Maddie Clark. While this an exciting time for senior girls, King Attendees are not as excited compared to the Queen Attendees. King Attendees are Lucas Tobin, Remington Henson, Braxton Price, Jaxon King and Tyson Kelly.

Junior Attendees are one step closer to their last year of prom court. Junior Attendees are Caitlyn Dickey, Maggie Dickey, JayZale O’Neal and Isaac Loker. Sophomores have their first year under their belt and are ready to take on their second year of prom court. The Sophomore Attendees for this year are Alivia Dillman, Reneki Embry, Andrew White and Daniel Gibbs. This is a new experience for Freshmen Attendees. Being a Freshman is hard enough, but now experiencing something totally new could be a bit nerve racking. Freshman Attendees are Kendy Anderson, Jaden Boyd, Jarrett Lewis and Austin Schuster. The cutest attendees of prom each year is the Junior Court. The Junior Court consists of Hannah and Asa Smith, the fraternal twins of Ms. Kim Smith, an English teacher here at Wayne City High School.
