Glitz and Glimmer: Prep for Prom

Grace McCormick

Prepping for prom can be a long, hard process.  Things like picking a theme, colors, DJ, after prom, and scheduling can be nerve racking.  Angie Kelly is the prom sponsor.  Angie and the prom committee have decided that the theme for this year’s prom is Glitz and Glimmer.  The main color for prom is white, and the accent colors are blush and gold.  The original plan for after prom was to go to The American Pizza Co. like we did the previous year.  After calling them, they were already booked for the weekend of prom.  Angie is taking any ideas from after prom locations.  Some of the talked about locations are, Louisville Mega Cavern, here students would zipline, as well as climb on the aerial ropes, and tour the cavern.  Other ideas consist of, SkyZone, Ice Skating, Kokomo Joe’s (which is just like The American Pizza Co.), Dave and Busters, and Adrenaline Zone.  Angie is calling the places above and getting estimates. A decision will be made by Monday, January 29.

An issue the Prom committee faced is the new prom tables burning in the fire, in the Ag building.  The Insurance adjusters met with Angie Wednesday to discuss what would happen.  The schedule is still not certain and things like, a time for pictures and the meal are still being discussed.  Angie kelly said, “Prom will be fantastic this year. It could be the best time of your life. The only issue we have stumbled upon so far, is where to go for post prom.”  Prom takes a lot of work and not one person can put it on themselves.  A lot of planning is required and takes a long time.  If you have any ideas about the upcoming 2018 prom, please tell Angie Kelly.
