Do You Know the Yodel Boy?

Rylee Greenwalt

The yodel you’ve all heard of comes from an 11 year old boy, Mason Ramsey who is from Golconda, Illinois. Mason made what we thought was his debut at the Harrisburg, Illinois Walmart, but this was not his first video to be recorded. The 11 year old’s favorite artist is Hank Williams Sr. With that being said, the song that Mason sang in Walmart is written by Hank Williams Sr, and it is called “Love Sick Blues”.

After Mason’s video had went viral, he returned to that same Walmart and put on a concert. Just a few days after Mason appeared on The Ellen Show, Coachella decided to invite him to come share his talent at their music festival. “Can’t wait to see California again! Hope y’all are ready cause we’re bringing the country to Coachella,” Ramsey said in an Instagram post. TMZ announced that Ramsey will perform with the DJ Whethan, who is scheduled to play on Friday, and that he might join the rapper Post Malone on stage. On top of Coachella, Ramsey managed to play a gig at the Grande Ole Opry in Nashville on April 14. For an 11 year old, this was a lot on his plate. Mason will continue to be a young shining star at other Walmarts.
