Journey to Missouri

Rylee Greenwalt

On May 2, 2018 the History Club ventured out to St. Louis, Missouri. Our first stop was the History of Missouri Museum. Our tour consisted of learning about the World’s Fair which was held in St. Louis in 1904. To make the World’s Fair possible, Forest Park had to be reconstructed. What once was a forest, transformed into thousands of stumps. Our History Club walked the same grounds where the World’s Fair took place. After our tour, we were brought to a classroom to do an activity. In the activity we made our own exhibit to put in the museum.

After learning about the World’s Fair, we went to the Galleria where we stopped for lunch. There were a number of different restaurants including Five Guys, The Cheesecake Factory, Panera and Panda Express. Most of the students chose Five Guys or The Cheesecake Factory. While letting our food settle, we boarded the Riverboat and took a short trip down the Mississippi River. Last, but not least we toured the St. Louis Blues Museum. Throughout the tour, there were stations where you could make your own song. At the end of the tour there was the option to email the finished song, so it was possible to listen to it. Can’t wait to see where Mr.Choate takes us next year.
