The 2018 NBA Playoffs is past it’s halfway point: the second round. The top seeds in the Western Conference have rolled through the Playoffs so far, while the Eastern Conference games have been much closer.  LeBron James has been the face of the Playoffs news so far, as he is the leader of many of the stats.

In the West, the number one and two seeds, the Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors, have rolled their way into the Conference Finals.  Both teams have only lost two games during the postseason up to this point and no series in the West stretched to a seven game series. Western Conference Finals games start May 14.  In the East, the fourth seed Cleveland Cavaliers are set to play the second seed Boston Celtics. Both teams’ first round series went to 7 games. The Celtics’ second round series was 1-4 against the third seed Philadelphia 76ers, and the Cavs swept the first seed Toronto Raptors.  Shortly after that series, the Raptors head coach Dwane Casey was fired. Casey was also awarded Coach of the Year right before the Playoffs started and his team was the top in the East. Eastern Conference Finals start May 13.

LeBron James from the Cavaliers leads the stats in 16 categories in this years Playoffs up to the end of the second round, including minutes played, field goals, field goal attempts, 2-pt field goals, points, and points per game.  The Rockets’ Clint Capela also currently holds multiple spots at the top of the stats, including total rebounds, blocks, blocks per game, and offensive rating.
