Another year of History Club has passed, and the 2018-19 year is quickly beginning, with new officers to be nominated and elected.  The spots to be filled are president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and chief historian. Students were allowed to nominate any of their peers for one of these spots.  There is only one returning officer from last year, senior Isaac Loker, because all the other former officers are now graduates. History Club is one of the largest clubs in WCHS.  This year’s trip location has already been set at Springfield, IL by the history club sponsor, Mr. Choate.

The election for new officers was held on Friday, August 30 in the performance gym.  Each student was given a sheet of paper that showed all positions and all nominated students.  The elected chief historian is sophomore Christopher Clark, treasurer is returning senior Isaac Loker, elected secretary is senior MaKenna Kelly, elected vice president is senior Caitlyn Dickey, and elected president is senior Cole Clark.  There were no students nominated for the treasurer spot, and only one nominated for chief historian. These newly elected officers will be executing tasks like designing this year’s shirt and planning out trivia night.
