FCCLA Regional Meeting

FCCLA+Regional+Meeting

MaKenna Kelly

Tuesday, October 30 the FCCLA members headed to Carbondale to attend the Regional Meeting with other FCCLA members. At this meeting, they attended multiple sessions that spoke about anything from tie blankets to suicide prevention. This year, the region decided to help raise awareness and donate supplies to the Ronald McDonald House. In one of the sessions, the members made tie blankets to donate to the house.

The Ronald McDonald House provides care for families who have a family member staying in the hospital so that the family can stay close by but still be able to get a full night’s rest and a shower.

The motto for this year is “Toward New Horizons.” Event organizers had a keynote speaker come in and discuss the adventure he had experienced which made him achieve new horizons. This meeting had a silent auction and raffled off all kinds of different baskets of goodies. The members had a lot of fun and cannot wait for next year’s meeting.
