On November 9, four Future Farmers of America (FFA) members left around 5:00 in the morning to head to Decatur, Illinois. They were going to the Build Conference for a session filled weekend.

The Build Conference is a combination of the 360 Conference and Farm Bureau Youth Conference. The conference was only for Junior and Senior FFA members. Students attended the conference from Friday to Saturday.

FFA members Isaac Loker, Dalton Smith, Chasidy Greenwalt, and Caitlyn Dickey all enjoyed attending the conference. They were all divide into different groups and stayed in that group all day. Students learned about different leadership skills they can use and how they can be a better person in their community. A total of 6 sessions were included throughout Friday and Saturday morning. Almost everyone enjoyed the dance the most since they didn’t have to be in the official dress for the rest of the night. Students reported their least favorite activities included the sessions and the meals prepared for attendees.

Dalton Smith added his thoughts and commented, “It was definitely worth going to the conference. My favorite part was the opportunity to meet new people and get out of my comfort zone. Oh, and the food, that’s always a plus on any trip.”
