Luke Perry Suffers Massive Stroke

On Wednesday, February 27, 2019, Beverly Hills, 90210 star, Luke Perry suffered a massive stroke in his home in Sherman Oaks, California. Less than a week later on Monday, March 4, 2019, Perry passed away in the presence of his family. Perry was best known for his work on Beverly Hills, 90210 where he played Dylan McKay, and most recently known for his work on Riverdale where he played Fred Andrews, Archie Andrews’ dad.

Coy Luther Perry III (Luke Perry) was born October 11, 1966, in Ohio. Perry was also featured in many other movies and shows including The Fifth Element, 8 Seconds, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Perry began acting when he moved to Los Angeles after his high school graduation. Although he seemed to be a household name right off the bat, that was not the case. Before landing his first gig, he was rejected a total of 216 times. According to USA Today, Perry played alongside Bobcat Goldthwait and Alice Cooper in the music video for Twisted Sister’s “Be Chrool to Your Scuel” almost a year before he finally got his break on ABC’s Soap Opera “Loving.” Luke said, ”I didn’t hit a home run with ‘Loving,’ but I did get on base.” Luke will be missed by not only his family and friends but also his coworkers and fans.
