The 2019 Miss Bean Queen Pageant is in approximately a month and participants are getting prepared. Friday, August 30 at 3:30 p.m., the Wayne County press will be taking photos for the paper at the Wayne City Community Building. There will also be a mandatory practice for all participants at 6:00 p.m. at the Wayne City School in the Performance gym on Friday, September 20. All ten highschool participants will be given an appointment time for their interview at practice. The 2019 Bean Queen Pageant will be held on September 21, and interviews can start as early as 4:00 p.m.

The 2017 Bean Queen Pageant winner, Abby Atwood, said, “I enjoyed participating, and it was such an honor to give the crown to such a great girl. I will continue to come and support the girls every year,” when asked about her Bean Queen experience. Many past-year participants recommend joining the Bean Queen Pageant and have enjoyed their experiences. Bean Queen is a great way to boost girls’ confidence, due to each girl winning at least one thing every year. Contestants still have roughly a month to fully prepare, and it should be a great year.
