Maggie Dickey is 18 years old and is a Wayne City native. She is the daughter of Rodney and Dana Dickey, who were also raised in Wayne City. Maggie enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially her niece and nephews. Maggie takes pride in her small town and is involved with Wayne City Matters, an organization that puts on events for the town to enjoy. Her number one goal in life is to get married and start a family.

Dickey’s senior year started out normal. She had enrolled in Rend Lake College and had plans of attending there in the fall of 2019. However, the summer before she was supposed to attend college, it was laid on her heart that RLC was not where God had planned for her to go. She decided to not attend Rend Lake and take a gap year. It soon became clear to her that she was supposed to attend Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After she told her family what she had planned, her brother said he was interested in moving to Tulsa as well. So she and her brother’s family set out on a road trip to Tulsa. They looked at houses, toured Rhema Bible College, explored the city, and visited with friends who are from Wayne City as well. She instantly fell in love with the city and school and knew it was exactly where she was supposed to be.

Maggie plans to attend Rhema Bible College in the fall of 2020 with her sister-in-law. The two of them plan to get their associates degree and see where God takes them from there. For now, she plans to continue working at the Wayne City Public Library and soaking up her last moments in Wayne City with her closest friends and family. Her story is a prime example that God will always lead you where you should be.
