Scrumshis Cookies made by you!

Lillian Borah, Reporter

Making cookies can sound frustrating but it isn’t as scary as it sounds. First, figure out what type of cookies to make. Chocolate chip or peanut butter are typical choices, but nontraditional cookies like pumpkin chocolate chip cookies make it fun to reminisce about the good ole days in fall!

First, preheat the oven to 350 F. Now, get a bowl to hold the ingredients. Put 1 ½ cups of butter and sugar into the bowl and beat it for 2 minutes. If it isn’t smooth enough, go for another 2 minutes. Then, add 1 large egg, 1 cup pumpkin puree, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice in the bowl of the started batter. Beat for an additional 2 minutes. This step might make the mixture look separated, but that is a good thing. Then, add 2 ½ cups cake flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips. Mix it until all the ingredients are combined.

Now, get a 1 ½ tablespoon cookie scoop, and start placing the cookies on the cookie sheet. They should be 2 inches apart on top of parchment paper. Bake it for 10 minutes and let them cool completely before eating them. Next, taste the beauty of fall!
