There is a new club at Wayne City High school! The kids here have been so excited to be a part of this club. The Herpetology Club, is a club that deals with zoology concerned with reptiles and amphibians. There are all types of reptiles and amphibians. They keep their reptiles and amphibians in the Junior High Science Lab. The Herpetology Club is run by Mimi McKinney. Senior, Hallie Musgrave said, “Coming to join this club I almost backed out because I thought it was going to be dumb. After we got going with it, it was really fun and I do not regret joining the club at all. My favorite reptile is the chameleon and his name is Leo. We are best buds.” There are a few more students in there as well. They teach the little kids in the grade school about all of the different reptiles and amphibians that are in there. Senior, Maddie Caudle says, “It is really fun getting to know all the animals and learn about them and how to take care of them. It is a great experience and not at all what I expected. It is very hard to choose which one is my favorite but it is a tie between the chameleon Leo and the snake Martha!” Seeing kids from the Senior class be a part of this club will encourage the classes under them to join in the following years ahead.
