On October 10, Wayne City High School will host their annual Pink Out game to raise cancer awareness. This event will provide financial assistance for two local community members affected by cancer, Carrie Dagg and Kegan Smith, to help with medical and travel expenses. The evening will include a meal of pulled pork and pork loin, sides, and a silent auction. Dinner will be served beginning at 4:30 pm at the Wayne City High School cafeteria. The Wayne City FFA will also be helping out through the dinner and having concessions during the volleyball game. The Junior Varsity game versus Woodlawn High School starts at 6:00 pm with the varsity match to follow. T-shirts will be available for $16.00 each. Senior volleyball player Klaire Stich said, ¨It is good knowing that it is more than just a game and we are playing for reasons more than ourselves.¨
Junior volleyball player Kenzie Seidel said, ¨The Pink Out game is my favorite game of the season. It is an event where people can come out to a volleyball game and enjoy it as well as a meal. We donate the profit of the silent auction to the people in need. It is an awesome way to bring the community together.¨
The players think this will be a very important game for Wayne City High School. If the varsity wins this game, they win the conference, which is very important to the Lady Indians volleyball team. The crowd will support the team by wearing pink or their Pink Out shirts. Come support and cheer on the Lady Indians volleyball team as they compete for the win.
