Senior of the Month is an achievement that all Wayne City High School seniors strive to get. It is a very desired award within Wayne City High School. Senior of the Month shows that the student awarded is hardworking, responsible, actively involved in the school, and invests time in the community. The November Senior of the Month is Jacob Thomason. Thomason has participated in Wayne City High School basketball for all of his four years of high school and is excited to be beginning his senior year as a starter for the Indians. He has also participated in many school clubs including History Club, Beta Club, FFA, Pep Club, and FCA.
Coach Jake Talbert said, “Well deserved. Jacob is a fine, upstanding young man. I’ve enjoyed having him in class and on the basketball team over the past few years. He is a good example for the younger guys in the school. He has high standards and expectations for himself and others.” Thomason stated, “ I was excited, I immediately was congratulated by my peers and then made my way to lunch. I thought I would win Senior of the Month at some point being as involved as I am at the school.” Thomason has a very close relationship with both of his parents. Thomason said, “My parents said they were proud of me, and they didn’t expect any less from me.” Thomason’s parents, Brandon and Misty Thomason, were honored as Senior of the Month when they were in high school at Wayne City.
