The Wayne City FCCLA members hosted a week full of activities called FCCLA Week. There were multiple activities held. The week before, members had a club potluck where everybody brought food, drinks and dessert. Students got to know each other. Members thought it was a very fun time to hang out and just talk. One of the members, freshman Izabella Jones said, “I love being in FCCLA because I can be myself around the people I like and can have fun. It is helping me become a better person in school and in life.” Monday, the officers had an ice cream sundae bar for all of the students and teachers in the high school. Students could come down and choose which ice cream they liked and they even got to pick toppings for their ice cream sundae. Tuesday, members promoted the blood drive, which they held on Wednesday. Officers passed out candy to all the students and teachers. Friday, students discovered who drew their name for the secret member gift exchange. FCCLA director Laura Miller said, “Another successful FCCLA week was completed. We chose familiar activities that were the officers’ favorites. We kicked off the week with an all member FCCLA potluck lunch. During the lunch, members found out who their “secret member” was. Secret members exchanged small gifts all week. We had an all school ice cream social, passed out candy and promoted our upcoming blood drive. The blood drive was held the week after FCCLA week due to scheduling conflicts. FCCLA week was the same week as Stupid Cupid and an early out so we were short a couple of days this year to celebrate FCCLA week, but overall it was a fun week for members.”
