The annual Wayne City FFA banquet and Alumni Scholarship auction was held on Saturday, March 15 at Wayne City High School. Members were recognized for their accomplishments over the past year and the new officer team was installed. Allison Ellis said, “My favorite part of the banquet was spending time with my friends and seeing everything we did throughout the year.” Raelyn Cox said, “It was fun, and it is my first time being an FFA member. I also enjoyed helping people throw their trash away, I enjoyed the FFA Banquet.” After the awards program, the alumni held a workday auction, silent auction, and live auction with various items for all ages.
Alayna White said, “The 2025 Wayne City FFA Banquet went better than I could have ever anticipated. After months of planning, everything went just as planned and better than what I could have ever imagined. I am beyond thankful for the generous people within our community that come and donate so much to the FFA.”
The meal was provided by Steve and Paula Ehrhart. Adi Stich said, “I enjoyed socializing with everyone cause I got to see some people that I haven’t seen in a while.” The money raised at the auction helps the alumni fund the FFA scholarship program and helps FFA members and Ag students throughout the year, taking some of the financial burden off members. Avery Barnard said, “I enjoyed helping serve desserts at the banquet, and I also got an award for my record book in proficiency about chickens.” This year, the alumni and members raised just over $40,000, with over 425 people in attendance.
