The Wayne City FFA hosted their annual FFA week, which started on Sunday when the FFA members went to Orchardville church wearing their official dress. Since, there was no school Monday, Tuesday the group held the farmer’s breakfast where the members all wore denim and overalls. They also had a contest for the cleanest and dirtiest car. Sophomore Landis Musgrave got the cleanest car, and senior Kylee Moore won the prize for the dirtiest car. Alayna White said,” FFA week is always one of my favorite weeks. Getting to show appreciation for our local farmers and being a voice for agriculture is so important in our community. National FFA week gives us a chance to do that. It is also a great way for members to fellowship and have fun together.”
Wednesday the FFA members greeted the elementary students as they walked into the school. They also had Ag in the classroom. Thursday members held the petting zoo, where FFA members brought their animals to show to the little kids. Students also enjoyed an ice cream bar. Kenzie Seidel said, “I love being able to help with FFA week and getting the whole school involved with one organization. It is always a blast.” Friday’s event was postponed due to weather conditions to Monday. “Drive Your Tractor to School” was the last event for FFA week, but many of the FFA members enjoyed it. Ava Shaw said, “It was fun reading to the little kids. I enjoyed spending time with them and how interested they were.”
