FFA members have been very busy this past month. On August 28, they travelled to Duquoin for the annual Farm Follies at the Duquoin State Fair. There, they tied for 3rd place with Marissa and Mount Vernon High School. They recently attended forestry judging at Sam Dale Lake and horse judging at the Wayne County Fair Grounds, both on September 11. They received 8th place out of 11 in both competitions. They had their annual back to school FFA party Friday September 15 at Steve and Paula Ehrhart’s house. There were food and desserts cooked by Steve and Paula, and there was also swimming.

The FFA students are currently selling ribs, which will help raise money for their upcoming convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. It will start Wednesday, October 25, when FFA officers will begin attending. Other FFA members will join the officers Friday, October 27. They will all attend the PBR rodeo Friday night, and they will all come back home Saturday, the 28.  In order for members that are not officers to attend convention, they must earn 20 points by attending meetings and other FFA activities.

FFA students helped hand out water to the runners that participated in the annual Bean Days 5k run Friday, September 22. They also helped pick up trash after the fair Friday and Saturday night. They built their float Friday night before Bean Days which went through the parade Saturday, September 23. FFA received second place on their float. All members that helped build the float got to ride on the float as well. After having so much fun at Farm Follies in Duquoin, they decided to have their own Farm Follies at Bean Days Saturday. All the members that attended their Farm Follies Saturday had a blast.
