The Heart Behind Wayne City

Alivia Dillman

On October 28, 2018, Wayne City Matters held their annual trunk or treat for the community. Sheri Thomason from Wayne City Grade School put it all together. Around 20 cars participated in the event and were decorated to take part in this year’s trunk or treat. In the “best trunk” competition, the Wayne City High School cheerleaders got first place, with their theme being The Greatest Showman. They had over 150 kids show up this year. The event started around 5:30 p.m. and ended at approximately at 7:45 p.m. It was such a good turn out, some of the cars even ran out of candy. Participants felt Sheri did a great job putting it all together, and the people who helped her out were fantastic as well. Events like this help bring a small community together and have an enjoyable time. Many town members feel that the Wayne City Matters group has done a lot of good things for this town, and hope every town has an organization and event like this. They couldn’t do the trunk or treat without Sheri Thomason and the rest of the people behind Wayne City Matters. Thank you all for helping out and helping this community that they call home.
