The Wayne City High School baseball team has started off the season with the start of five games. They are 0-5 at the moment but are ready to make their comeback. Dawson Wood said, “I believe that we can make a comeback this season and be the best we can be with the help of each other and the work each of us put into practice. The baseball team is ready for the season to begin and the opportunities we have to present to our crowd.”
To many, baseball is more than just a game. It is players working together and most importantly having fun and enjoying being a kid. The purpose of the game is to not only win and try the hardest but to build friendships with teammates. Whether it is sunny, rainy, or chilly outside, baseball brings people together for the fun and excitement of the game. Baseball teaches about teamwork, perseverance, and being respectful to others. It teaches the young men to be the best version of themselves. Kayne Gregory stated, “Baseball helps me learn about brotherhood and I wouldn’t change my team for the world. We share victories, losses, and the support we have for each other.”
