On December 13 Wayne City School hosted a Christmas Concert for all the families of the Wayne City students. Each chose the song they wanted to sing or play. The concert started with the kindergarten singing “Jingle Bells” followed by first grade who sang “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “Feliz Navidad.” Second graders sang “Silent Night” and “Deck the Halls” while third graders sang “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” All of the kindergarten through third grade students came together to sing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Fifth grade band students then played “Jingle Bells” followed with the sixth grade through eighth grade’s “O Tannenbaum-German Carol,” “Christmas Time with Charlie Brown” and “Bell Carol Rock.” High School students took the stage to play “Here Comes Santa Claus,” “Let it Snow! Let it Snow Let it Snow!,” and “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24.” Kaylee Bullard said, “It was very nerve racking. We had all worked hard and practiced for months. It was a huge relief for it to finally be over. I was hiccupping up a storm from stress while waiting when we were playing.” All of the grades have been practicing for days upon days for this moment to show their families. Mrs. Fagan said, “I feel like the students this year really picked music they liked a lot, which helped them prepare and perform them well. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra piece was very neat!”
