In the 2024-2025 volleyball season, the Lady Indians dominated the Midland Trail Conference. After each season, the coaches in the conference nominate a couple of their players to be on the All Conference Team. After players are nominated, the coaches in the conference vote on each player.
This season, the Lady Indians had multiple girls who were nominated. Coach LaMar Choate nominated many of his varsity players. Out of Coach Choate’s nominees, five of the girls were recognized, Kyia Cone, Rylie Backes, Kenzie Seidel, and Emma Griswold. These four girls were named First Team All Conference. Cone was not only on the First Team, but she was recognized as Player of the Year.
Abi Lane was the fifth player recognized, and she made Honorable Mention. Alongside these five players, Coach Choate was voted as Coach of the Year in the conference. This has been the first time in many years that the Lady Indians volleyball team have had this many girls recognized for the All Conference team.
Griswold said, “I am very excited that I got the opportunity to be on the All Conference team. I had a lot of fun this season and I am glad I got to be a part of this team. I am super grateful for all of my teammates and coaches.” “I am proud that I am able to have this experience, and am happy for my other teammates that made all conference as well. We had a very good season and I am happy about the outcome,” Backes said.
