Senior of the Month is a special honor that all students at Wayne City High School aim to get. March’s Senior of the Month is Eowyn Smith. This award shows that the student who was chosen is hardworking, responsible, and someone who dedicates their time in and outside of school. The award is based on the teachers’ votes at the school. Smith has been heavily involved in drama for three years and Band for eight years. Smith really enjoys reading. During free time, Smith enjoys reading fantasy novels, particularly works by author Leigh Bardugo. Smith is even named after a character in the famous literary fantasy series by J. R. R. Tolkien, the Lord of the Rings.
Smith enjoys technology and wants to make a career out of this interest.
Smith said,” I plan to go and get a degree in computer science at Eastern Illinois University. I am honored to be Senior of the Month, it motivated me to continue to keep working hard.”
Smith is appreciated by staff for her effort and consistency.
Band Director, Jessica Fagan said, “Eowyn has always put a lot of work into academics. Eowyn rarely misses school and puts a lot of effort into even the extra things such as ACES testing, music, and drama.”
