On the morning of Feb. 19, band teacher Jessica Fagan and her students boarded a bus and took a trip to Saint Louis to visit the Fox Theater. Over 30 students attended, with the rainy weather providing some inconvenience for the participants. For some students, this trip was their first trip to the Fox Theater. The performance, a live-action version of “The Phantom of the Opera”, included stunts and special effects. The screen effects made the chandelier hanging overhead seem as though it was falling into the crowd below.
Kaylee Bullard said, “The show was really interesting but hard to follow due to all of the singing. However, the costumes and all of the effects were really cool.”
The students were granted special backstage tour passes to see the inner workings of the show, historical items used in past entertainment, and some of the special effects.
Fagan said, “It was really neat to finally get to do the tour, the show was phenomenal, and we had a great time overall.”
