Recently, the Illinois Principals Association Egyptian Division hosted the Student Recognition Breakfast honoring the highest-achieving students from each principal’s school. Students ranging from second grade to seniors attended the event. Each student received a certificate and enjoyed breakfast with their principal and two guests.
The two high school students chosen for the breakfast were Kaylee Bullard (12) and Dawson Wood (12).
Bullard said, “Every senior had to get on stage and do some weird little dance. It wasn’t my favorite part, but after the guest speaker we sat down and certain principals were awarded and recognized for their hard work.”
Wood (12) said, “It was an honor to go and an exciting experience. I felt lucky to have the opportunity to be there and see everything firsthand. It was something I will remember for a long time.”
The association awarded grade school principal Tony Richardson the title of Principal of the Year.
Tony Richardson said, “It is an excellent event and one of my favorites of the year. I get to honor two students who exemplify the qualities we expect from students. This year I was also honored with Elementary Principal of the Year. There are several amazing principals, and I am humbled I won.”
